The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network started in 2015 as part of the Ambition for Ageing programme. To find out more about the programme visit:

The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network works closely with the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub that is part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

Age UK are probably the most well known of the UK charities concerned with Ageing. The local branches of Age UK deliver many services for  older people across Greater Manchester.  Nationally, the organisation campaigns on important issues for older people and their website is also a great source of information.  https://www.ageuk.org.uk/.  Age UK attended our recent influencing event and shared information on their current campaigns.

Independent Age is a national charity providing information and services for older people as well as campaigning on important issues. Their website has some excellent accessible resources that deal with many key areas.

Ageing Better is a national organisation, working to create a society where everyone enjoys later life. They are engaged in policy work and research in many of the key areas that The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network are focused. They produce varied interesting publications on a variety of subjects relating to ageing and also host events.  https://www.ageing-better.org.uk/

Reengage is a national charitable organisation supporting older people to stay connected and make social connections if they are feeling lonely or socially isolated.
