The work of the Greater Manchester Older People's Network (GMOPN) is all about getting older people’s voices heard. We want to make sure that people have a say in the decision-making that affects them and that their voices are championed in as many relevant areas as possible. In order to do this, we offer and advertise a wide range of participation opportunities for older people to get involved with.

We hold regular events that offer older people the chance to engage with key influencers and policy makers and to share their views on key issues.

 

All our events are organised by a planning committee of network members and have so far focused on the themes of: 

  • Health and social care

  • Transport

  • Housing

  • Campaigning

  • Participation

  • Ageism/being age proud

  • Influencing

  • Older People and the media
